About Us
A school built by the community, for the community.
Sinenjongo was founded in 2008 in Joe Slovo Park to serve learners whose talent and ambition deserved a school equal to their dreams.
Our Story
From a few classrooms to a community institution.
Sinenjongo High School opened its doors in 2008 with a handful of teachers, a determined first cohort of learners, and a name that captured everything we believed about ourselves: we have a vision.
Today, more than 1,200 learners walk through our gates each morning. We have produced doctors, engineers, teachers, artists, athletes and entrepreneurs — and we have learned, year after year, that what a township school can become is limited only by the imagination and effort of those who build it.
Our story is still being written, by every learner who chooses to dream bigger and every educator who refuses to settle.
Vision
To be the school that proves where you start does not decide where you go.
Mission
To deliver an education marked by academic rigour, character formation and community service — so that every Sinenjongo learner leaves us ready to lead a meaningful life and lift others as they rise.
Our Values
The four words on every classroom wall.
Excellence
We hold every learner and educator to the highest possible standard — kindly, but without compromise.
Ubuntu
I am because we are. Belonging is not a luxury at Sinenjongo; it is the foundation of every classroom.
Vision
Sinenjongo means 'we have a vision.' We teach our learners to see further than their circumstances.
Integrity
Honest work, honest words, honest choices. The quiet habits that build durable lives.
Leadership
The people who hold the line.
